Hi All

any chance someone can check my router, cant get wifi calling to enable on any phone in the house, i have seen it could be a simple setting in the router that needs changing

Morning Debbie

SSID from the booster is identical to the main router used WPS to link them

WiFi calling appears when downstairs and wifi connected to the router, only when I go upstairs and my phone is connected to the booster it will disappear

Tested a wifi call yesterday and worked OK (downstairs connected to router)

Thanks

Dan

@dannyw13 I think the team are just trying to get a better understanding of your current set up.

Morning @dannyw13

Some more questions from our Devices Team:

Have you have changed the SSID's on the router?

If they are running extenders, could they remove the extenders and just use the Hub with v1 and attempt a Wi-Fi Call?

Hi Debbie

For me I can tell by wifi 6 connection on the booster, the main talktalk router does not have wifi 6, you can change the wifi name for the extender also to distinguish which is what

Thanks

Hi @dannyw13

The Devices Team are trying to replicate this fault in the labs.

Question from the team - how does the customer know their device is connected to the Wi-Fi booster at the time of making Wi-Fi call?

Using a Galaxy Z Fold 3, wifi calling works at other locations just not at home here

Thanks

Hi @dannyw13

The problem is that there is a disconnect between the router & the V1 266 due to incorrect firmware on the version 1. I have been waiting for some time to find out when the new firmware will be updated on them. I am currently using a V2 266, which works for WiFi calling no problem.

I will chase Talktalk up again, @Debbie-TalkTalk has been liaising with their Devices team to get me an answer.

No @dannyw13 the router will be on V206, which is new, the F266's firmware will be totally different.

Thanks for the screenshot. Is that the whole page? There should be 266 information displayed below the router's in that sub tab unless you are on Version 1 of the 266.

I keep asking, please can you confirm which version of 266 you have, this is vital to me being able to deal with your problem.

The most crucial thing is are you on the Version 1 266 (three lights on the front) or the version 2 (one light underneath).

You can log into it, you use the router's UI go to:-

Dashboard > See Wi-Fi Settings > Manage Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi 5Ghz gear icon >
Wi-Fi Mesh

In there get me a screenshot of the Extenders sub tab (PM this to me to preserve your privacy).
