Old problems starting? Slow broadband, router rebooting etc!

I have had a steady 20mb download, 4mb upload for a few month now, after loads of issues.... until the last few days, my broadband has dropped to 18mb dl and 3.7mb ul, also my gateway has restarted about 6 times last few days, each time giving me a slow speed, so I have had to restart the router again! Is there something going on, or can someone shed any light? Just concerned that I'm gonna have loads of issues (again)!

Hi jwatson,

 

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line which hasn't detected a fault, however I can see quite a few re-connections on the line. Are you experiencing any issues with the voice service such as noise on the line or no dial tone? Does your master socket have a test socket?

My telephone sounds fine, though when I was talking to my partner yesterday, a lot of background interference appeared mid call, same time as I noticed that my router had a flashing amber light!

 

There is one socket at the window as the cable comes in, it's one of these new ones that don't need a filter.

So there is just the one socket? Do you just have the telephone and router connected?

 

Do you have another router that you can test with?

Hi, yeah just the one socket where the cable comes in at the window, router and telephone are connected. I have a DSL 3782 router I can try.

No difference in speed with DSL-3782, still slow speeds!

Hi jwatson,

 

Thanks for confirming this. It can take between 24-48hrs for DLM to make changes to the sync speed if the connection remains stable. Is the 3782 router still connected at the moment?
