Hi been a talk talk customer for years with zero issues. As my contact was coming to an end I decided to upgrade from fibre 35 to fibre 65. Since upgrading my internet speed and stability has been shocking bad. Struggling to hit 7 Mbps up and down, nothing like the 55 minimum guarantee speed. Can anyone have a look in to this please. Thanks.

Morning,

I've re-checked the connection stats now and there has been no increase as yet so I'll re-check again tomorrow.

Thanks

Hello,

It can take 24-48hrs for DLM to make changes to the speed so I'll re-check your stats again first thing in the morning.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you. Would it be possible to keep the router connected to the test socket until tomorrow and I will check your connection stats again?

Yes I've found the test socket. Just waiting for the router to do a 30 mins power down and I'll retry the test

Hi,

The 5C NTE socket should have a test socket. Does it look like the below?

Thanks

Hi I have a 5c master socket and it hasn't got a test socket. As of this morning my speed has dropped again. Struggling to get 4 down and 7 up.

Edit, I've taken the face plate off the master socket and found the test port. Currently doing another 30 minutes power down.

Morning,

Does your main socket have a test socket please? If it does then could you try connecting the microfilter, router and phone at the test socket so we can see how the connection stats compare please?

Thanks

Michelle

Hi I'm used talktalks own speed check and speed test.net. just checked my new contract and it states minimum of 35 down and 13.8 up. Suppose it due to the line needing to settle.

Hi

Are you using the TalkTalk speed test ?

Try some others also to give an average.

Thanks

Karl.

Hi done the 30 minutes power down. Speed looks like it's where it should be, 58 down but only 7 up? Sure I was quoted minimum of 13 up?

Hi

powering off for 30 minutes will allow a new session to start and should always be done when a speed increase is applied. Give it a try.

Thanks

Karl.

Hi. No I've not tried the 30 minutes power down. I spoke to someone in the tech department at talk talk and they advised that it takes 10 days for the line to settle after upgrading and they use DLM to monitor the line and adjust accordingly. Just have to wait by the looks of it.

Hi

The router is in sync at 62.7mb.  Have you tried the 30 minute powerdown as advised ?

Thanks

Karl.

Hi @rossi73 have you tried a 30 minute reboot for your router? This often helps.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
