Hi there
I was having an issue with my line speeds last night. After rebooting routers etc my connection seems to be stable again, but at a much reduced download speed.
Usually I would be getting 57/18mbps but last night + still this morning I'm getting 14/18mbps.
My upload speed looks normal but it's almost as if my download is being throttled somehow.
Is anyone able to help try to reset it?
Thanks

Hi mitchgixer6
That's great 🙂
Please can you return the old router using the pre paid returns bag.
Thanks again.

Use the returns bag, and keep a certificate of posting, @mitchgixer6, in order to track it.

Hi there
The new router seems to be more stable + working better generally
Do you want me to send the old one back in the returns package?

Hi mitchgixer6
Thanks for your reply 🙂
Ok no problem. If you do experience any further issues with the replacement router then please let us know.

That would be great thanks Chris, would help me rule out the router when fault finding
Cheers

OK thanks. Line test is clear, connection looks stable with a very low error count over the last few days. I can send another router out to test with, it will be the same make and model. Would you like me to arrange this?

Hi Michelle
I'm not sure if you'll be able to help with this but since swapping back to my Talk Talk router (it's quite old + been lying in the garage for a while) I've been having problems streaming on my TV. It keeps buffering regularly + generally struggling to play anything online.
Everything is connected up with a Cat5 cable.

Hi,
No problem and I'm glad to hear that the throughput speeds have increased. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
Thanks
Michelle 🙂

OK I have plugged the Talk Talk router back in and the speed has come back up to 57/18mbps
Must have been an issue with my router.
Thanks again for the help

Hi again,
Thanks for trying this. Do you have a different router that you could test with just to rule this out please?
Thanks
Michelle

OK I left everything powered down for 40 minutes.
On re connecting I've still got the same speeds 14/18mbps. That's both on WiFi and wired connection.
I am using a 3rd party router, but as I say that has been working OK for months until last night

Hi there thanks for testing things out.
No I haven't done that yet. I knew it could be done but couldn't remember how long it needed to be powered off for. Will try that now
Thanks
