Just waded past the bot to try and get some help with my landline. I had a previous connection test which advised me to go to talktalk.co.uk/tech to check my router settings (that's an hour  of my life I won't get back) but got no 'operative' to chat with, he or she was obviously too busy!! So anyone from Talk talk monitoring this forum, your service is appalling considering what you charge and my problem is still not resolved. BTW I don't think it's the router as the voice calls are very bad and I think the line needs to be inspected by an engineer. Oh yes, you also need more people answering the phones - a lot more.......

Hi

All replies should be made here in this thread so we can respond 🙂

I've tested the line from here, and it is showing clear.

Can you tell me what the problem is ?

Also, have you tested another handset to rule this out.

Thanks

Karl.

Hi, I replied by email but haven't had any response so far so I am updating the 'ticket' here. Basically I believe the line needs testing physically to check the connection to the house (It was replaced years ago when we were having similar problems) as the problem is getting worse if anything. For what it's worth my wife's brother worked for BT some time ago and reckons there is water in the connection box, so if you could have someone investigate it I would be very grateful.

Happy New Year

James

Hi

Can you describe the problem fully ?

Also , you mention the landline, are calls crackling etc ?

Have you tested at the test socket ?

I've tested the line here, and tests for broadband and phone are clear with no obvious issues detected.

Thanks

Karl.

Hi @boydfish your post has been escalated but bear in mind the weekend is fast approaching.

Have you rebooted your router recently, might be worth a try?

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
