PROBLEMS WITH HUAWEI HG-633 ROUTER

Hi,

Having problems recently with Huawei HG-633 Router. Coverage seems to have weakened significantly in last year? Can’t get ant wi-fi coverage in the upstairs bedrooms, and the router is in the place/position it always has been? Also drops out quite a bit, and needs rebooting often!

Also, phone and iPad complain about weak security WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure? Sorry, not very techy… but is this down to the router being old tech?

Morning Debbie,

new router installed Friday. Much better coverage. Kids haven’t complained about it dropping out so far. So I’d say it was a success.. thanks for everyone’s help with this.

Hi Mugatu72,

Thanks for your post. We can send a replacement router (Wifi Hub) to see how this compares. Would this be ok?

Thanks

Michelle

Thanks for starting your own topic. You should use WPA2 AES where possible. As I mentioned previously, the support team will pick this up when they are back online next week.
