Router Interference

Hi

Seem to be getting some kind of interference on the Router (Wifi Hub).

Generally Fibre35 gives me a solid 12-17 Ping with 30Mbps down 6Mbps up.

However I keep getting intermittent drops to 500+ Ping with single figure Mbps down and less than one Mbps up.  Particularly noticeable on XBox with online games dropping out or lagging badly.

Tried both Wifi and direct Ethernet connection between Xbox and Router and it seems to persist.

I may have narrowed it down to either or both of TV (older plasma) and/or Sky HD box but it's so intermittent its difficult to be certain.

It also happened a couple of years ago and a replacement router seemed to fix it until now, could it be this replacement router has developed a similar issue?

Grateful for any ideas!

Do you find that your internet cuts out whenever you make or receive phone calls from your landline?

No - same room as the router

Does the problem occur everywhere you try and use the WiFi, or just in certain parts of the house - for example upstairs, or outside the house?

@GraemeMcD Welfare Monitoring Check

Do you have any active monitoring for life threatening health reasons which is solely dependant upon your TalkTalk Broadband or Telephone line?

For example a care alarm, lifeline, health pendant or fall detector.

TP Link extender previously identified as interfering isn't in use

No, only the Sagem is dropping devices, the Huawei doesn't do it, but isn't compatible with the extender I need to add to improve coverage upstairs. @KeithFrench

Hi @GraemeMcD

Two routers both dropping devices, I can't remember have we checked for WiFi interference recently? It could do easily have changed.

Router is dropping connected devices and not allowing reconnection without rebooting the router (often more than once). Most noticeable when returning home and device can't reconnect to the router.

Just to confirm the fault that you are reporting is dropping in connection?

@GraemeMcD is the router still plugged in? Are you available for diagnostics?

Update: Sagem relatively stable through the day, however it's now refusing to reconnect devices without needing a reboot so the previously reported issue is still there.
