It has been over a year and as far as I can tell, there has been no updates on this, is it planned to be resolved or do i have to switch providers/get a new router?
Having access to ports 80 and 443 are super neccesary for me.

This is a problem with the DG8041W without using a different external port & translating it to the desired local port, that is the only workaround. I will ask TalkTalk support to outline your options.
