So had my third BT OpenReach engineer come out to visit my home yesterday afternoon. He did a great job and replacement pretty much everything. When he tested the line using his gear directly to his laptop is what thankfully back up to full speed, even a few mb quicker. However when he tried getting it to work through my router it dropped by half again even dropping below 5mbps, speeds that I've been having to work with for weeks. The Engineer himself I'd need a new router and the problem should fix itself.
So spent 3 hours yesterday being passed around by various tech support advisors, and then on to a manager, and then back to sales, only to be told that they are unwilling to send me a new router because they wanted to do tests. I told them that the tests from them to the router will come back positive, the router to my devices (tablet and phone) as well as my wired connection to my computer aren't up to speed, hell it's back to fluctuating. Have to say I got very annoyed and agitated after spending all that time on the phone with an advisor(s) for my request to be rejected. They just don't understand the router itself, one that's several years old now, has become faulty inside the hardware itself. Now I find myself using faulty internet speeds that I'm paying full price for and sometimes not even getting internet because the router has decided it doesn't want to work.
I've run every single test they tech support script has told me to do 10 times over for months, done factory resets, done firmware resets and updates, everything, and the tests come back stating the line from TalkTalk to the router is fine, I'm getting the basic minimum speeds, so therefor there's nothing wrong. The router is the problem, the hardware is the problem, just require a replacement and they won't hear from me ever again. After 8 years of being a customer I'm seriously considering switching internet providers sadly as I'm not trying to be difficult I'm just trying to get my connection speeds back up to par, and in order to do that the router needs replacing. Can't even buy a new one from TalkTalk either.

Yeah sorry. Did try and load another section first but the connection speed wouldn't allow it nor would it allow me to post without a connection timeout. This was my second click that didn't time out and allowed me to post. Sorry if it's in the wrong section.

You have posted in the Full Fibre section, but the numbers you mention don't correlate to the expected speeds there? The support team here will look into this for you when they are back online from Monday.
