So my xbox is stuck on moderate NAT type causing me match making issues on online games.
Its saying "upnp unsuccessful"
I've checked my router settings and upnp is enabled.
I've tried power cycling the router which seems to work for a little while but then the problem reappears.
My xbox is connected via Ethenet Cable. Problem also is happening on my sons xbox via wifi.
Any Ideas
yesterday
As I said @Aaron_Campion the situation remains as per my post #18.

Hi just to confirm since you have updated my firmware I’m still getting UPNP errors on my Xbox resulting in moderate NAT type and still experiencing some issues when matchmaking.
do we have any idea when this will actually be fixed. I first reported this in November 2023

Hi @Karl-TalkTalk @Aaron_Campion
V206, still does not work with UPnP. It seems slightly better in so much as I can detect my router & get its Public IP address via UPnP. However, I still cannot add any port forwarding rules. The TT Devices team are aware of my findings on this after I fully tested V206, as they were before.

This issue has been happening since November 2023. How long does it take to make a patch.
As I said I’ve been with TalkTalk 7 years. I’m not in contract anymore. I have already started looking elsewhere

Morning,
Unfortunately it's not possible to downgrade the router firmware. The team are working on the new version of firmware.
Thanks
Michelle

I doubt it very much, you will have to ask them.

Thanks for your help. Is it option to downgrade the firmware to when UPNP was working?
on 16-06-2024 01:18 PM
Of course, they do, but not at weekends. I will escalate your dissatisfaction to them now & they should reply Monday or Tuesday.

Looks like i will look into leaving TalkTalk then. Been with them 7 years but this is a joke. Struggling to play online games due to the Nat type being moderate.

I will not know if it has been fixed until the new firmware is released & I have tested it. From what I am seeing, this will not be until near the end of this year.

Hi I posted this thread back in November.
is UPnp still bugged. It’s restricting me in matchmaking when playing games on my Xbox.
why have this not been fixed yet?
on 19-11-2023 01:04 PM
I have no timescales as to when this will be fixed.
I can help you with all aspects of port forwarding, but you will need to find out which TCP or UDP ports need to be opened.
You really do not want to go down the route of UPnP as I said it is totally insecure, it has the ability to open any ports particularly when controlled by malware & render your whole broadband open to attack.

Hi Keith,
im not really good with networking and have no clue about port forwarding. Unfortunately my Xbox needs UPnp to have an open NAT type. Any idea if talk talk are fixing this bug?
on 19-11-2023 09:13 AM
UPnp is incredibly insecure and should never be used, port forwarding is much safer. That said, if you have either of the two Sagemcom WiFi Hubs there is a bug in V174 where UPnP does not work anyway.
