Home phone line disconnected, need TalkTalk to contact Openreach for a quick home check

Hi,

As mentioned above, the home phone line has disconnected on all phones in the house for no apparent reason. From what I have been told, Openreach were working outside of the home, and may have accidentally disconnected the line.

There seems to be no issues with the cable/setup inside. I believe an elderly relation at the address (which relates to this account) contacted a talktalk call centre, and were offered to redirect home phone calls in the meantime.

It would be easier for Openreach to simply check the line.

As there seems to be no direct number for Openreach in order for them to check the line outside of the home, I have been told Talktalk need to act as the middleman and forward this information on to them.

Thanks for any help

Hi

The line tests are showing a DIS - disconnection fault.  This has already been logged to Openreach to investigate.

Thanks

Karl.

yes, it is this number. If someone rings the number, they can hear the ring on their side, but every phone in the house says no signal and does not ring, so nothing can be answered. I contacted as they were seemingly working outside on the line, which may or may not be coincidental. Thanks

edit - I have found that no house phones ring and all stay disconnected, although in a test, the house is silent, but it still goes through to voicemail asking to leave a message if I ring the number. So the line is surely working if the answering machine is active. I may need to test without any router connected, or with another home phone. Any info appreciated
