I was recently migrated to TalkTalk from Shell broadband. When I login to my TalkTalk account and try to access the My Security section, I am always presented with an error message.

There was a technical error

We’re sorry and working hard to resolve this. Please try again later.

It has been like this since I was migrated from shell. Can anyone help with this please?

@Asimkhanalizai, your posts won't get staff support unless you start your own topic.

Please return to the message board and click on start a topic to begin your own.

Also complete your community forum profile details for Talktalk staff to identify your account. You need to go via your avatar; settings; Personal Information. SAVE CHANGES.

You shouldn't be charged extra for Homesafe features. There's a charge for Supersafe, but that's a different product and covers different issues.

Put it all in your own thread and look out for a reply from staff during the day Monday to Friday.

I'm closing this and the other thread to new posts, as these are older topics and no longer in the queue for staff attention.

I get the same error, spoke to their customer service from one to another but they will try and prove it’s not them, after spending hours they will say they have applied setting now it will take 24 hours for changes to apply but after 24 hours same thing. It’s them they turn off this feature from your account and then they will ask you to pay £11 per month to get this activated. Super bad service, kids can access all sorts of websites and there is no safety for kids. I have been with them for years but it’s a shocking experience.

Apologies for the delay.

I'm glad to hear that everything is now working ok.

Thanks

Looks like they fixed it. Just checked and I can now access the My Security section.

@Anonymous, I have re-escalated your own thread.

It is here:

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Security/Technical-error-when-accessing-security-settings/td-p/3056554

Please follow up on there so that there is no confusion in the replies on here.

It will be after the weekend now before staff are back.

Yes, I was looking to enable the "kids safe" feature to block inappropriate sites – like adult content, social media, gambling, drinking and drugs.  Also I would like to turn on the Virus Alerts and Scam Protection feature.

Hi @andy1536

I will need to log this as a fault,

Is there any particular security feature you are trying to enable?
