Hi,
I have a 4k TV, I've tried to set the resolution on my talktalk 4k box to 3860x2160 30hz but states HDCP 2.2 compatibility issue and will only let me set to FHD via the HDMI port on the TV.
Is this normal on these boxes or should I buy a HDMI splitter 🤔
Thanks all

Hi
No option on the box to change this, if the monitor is not fully compatible, you could try a splitter, but I can't guarantee this will work.

Hi Karl,
I have tried on another 4k TV and was okay, so it's something to do with the edid handshake to my 2 year old monitor, I'm thinking, I don't think it's HDCP 2.2 compliant, maybe it's 1.4 or above, probably why it will not allow me to select 3840x2160 30hz, even though it's a 4k UHD monitor, hence why I thought a splitter to strip the HDCP signal, or is there an option software update to force the monitor, just wandering if there is a service menu on the talktalk 4k box I can access to see if I can adjust an option?

Hi Karl,
This is what I see when trying to select 4k resolution
can see in the list but won't let me select, I'm linked to HDMI port direct from talktalk box

Hi Karl,
I'm using the HDMI lead that was supplied with the unit,
Sees the resolution option to set to 3860 x 2160 30hz in the talktalk 4k box, but say there's an HDCP 2.2 compatibility issue with my tv,
So it's either the TV which is about 2 years old or the box, I will try on another 4k TV tomorrow at some point, also I've ordered a hdcp filter to bypass the 2.2, well that's if it work's, I won't get that till next Tuesday I guess, so will see how it goes, will keep you posted on my developments.
Thanks....

Hi
Another thought, Try a different HDMI cable, some cables may not fully support some resolutions / modes.
I've been testing my box here, and it has the resolution set at 3860/2160 @50Hz - I've tested direct to the TV (LG), but also tested through my cheap splitter as I have a couple of hubs connected.

Hi Karl,
So what's the answer to this issue,
If I purchase a HDCP stripper I'm hopeful it will bypass.

Hi
I don't think that a HDMI splitter will resolve the issue of the compatibility with the TV.
