TVHub bluetooth connection

I am trying to set up universal remote for my 92 year old father who is a TalkTalk TV customer. He cannot see buttons on the remote provided. Can I change the TV Hub from Bluetooth to IR so that universal remote can connect? I press the two buttons advised, get message on screen that handset defaults to IR but it remains on Bluetooth. Thanks

Hi

 

The Hub does use standard IR for the remote, and it cam then be paired to also use bluetooth.  If the remote is not paired, it will still operate the box as though it is a normal IR Remote.

 

We cannot guarantee that any universal remote will work with the box, it is trial and error.You can try a google search for TECHNICOLOR UZW4054TTG and see if there are forums with people using the different universal remotes with the box.

This is the second universal remote that I have tried. It does promise 100% compatible. Works fine with my own older You View box. I have tried my You View remote with newer TV hub - no luck.

No, it works on IR as older YouView remotes will control the box.

 

Maybe the universal remote isn't compatible.

Thanks. Yes, I did follow those instructions to return remote to IR but no success. Is the Hub itself only operational by Bluetooth?
