Charged £100 for returned router.

I had a faulty router that was replaced.
I bagged up the old one as requested and posted it at the beginning of December 2022.
I now find that I have been charged £100 as I no longer have proof of posting.
Spoke online and eventually had this reduced to £50. I am quite disgusted that I was charged £100 in the first place.
Also, as a long time customer of Talk Talk I am disappointed that I am being charged for this faulty router.
What with the cost of living etc I cannot afford this charge.
Add to that the Postal service strikes, who knows where it ended up.
Sorry I no longer have the proof of posting going back to December!
I would appreciate that this charge is waived as a good will gesture, the thing was faulty anyhow!
Look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Hi redjack
Your bill was £120.48, including 2 equipment charges, £50 was removed from that bill making it £70.48, which was paid, Then another £50 was raised which is now being refunded, so you actually paid 1 amount of £50 which is now being returned.
Regards

Hi,
Thank you for your message and for understanding.
I have clicked the Request Refund and this is being actioned.
What I do not see now is the original deduction that was made by your colleague during your online chat function.
Therefore, I am still being charged £50
Appreciate if you could investigate this and confirm.
Many thanks
