The point is, it's the One Touch Switch system that is not functioning properly.

Talktalk are clear in their original advice  - all very well saying "it's a bit late now", but it is advice that is up there on the site.

Just as with changing energy suppliers  - you really need to inform both companies and not just rely on the switching service.

As I said earlier  - no point posting on this thread.

I will lock it to new posts, as it can upset other / former customers if they keep getting notifications long after their own issue has closed.

It's a bit late now for that Gliwmaeden2. The TalkTalk system has failed me so I'm not able to get my account closed despite being on the phone for 2 hours now and sending hundreds of WhatsApp messages. No one can help. Every time I give notice the system rejects the request.

I've not idea what process of change the network is in or how reliable the systems are. I'm meant to be able to contact a new provider and everything happens automatically. TalkTalk need to up their game if their system can't cope with the OFCOM rules that have been in place since September 2024.

It's quite plain to see it's not meant to be necessary to contact TalkTalk if I want to leave out of contract.

I would simply follow the advice given on Talktalk's own cancellation information page [use the forum search engine to find advice/support pages, @BlueSky99]:

I wouldn't fully trust the One Touch Switch system while the whole network is in such a process of change.

You've posted on someone else's very old thread - please follow up on your own, as this won't be addressed by staff.

Same here with me:

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Billing/BEING-BILLED-MONTHLY-AFTER-LEAVING/m-p/3109017#M337938

I'm starting to think it's being done on purpose to boost profits as not everyone will notice the money coming out. TalkTalk rejects the request to leave sent by the new ISP but they don't tell anyone so monthly bills keep coming. When the customer catches on and gives notice again, TalkTalk rejects the request once more but doesn't tell the customer so more bills will arrive. It's disgraceful the amount of time and energy customers are having to put in to get it sorted while the threatening emails and letters demanding payment continue being sent.
