Internet dropping sporadically

We’re not on Fibre. Over the last week or so the signal has been dropping and then coming back. I wonder if we need a new router?
Have checked the service. It says there’s a reported issue but clicking on checking status connects to nothing!
Also tried the Bot. That ultimately wanted to refer me to an agent but they were all busy!
VERY FRUSTRATING!!
Any suggestions please?

Morning,
Thanks for the update and I'm glad to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which is clear and the connection stats look ok.

Hi Debbie. Things seem to be more constant so hopefully the new router has helped. Thank you.
The old router has been sent back.
Could you run a test to see if any issues show up now please?

Hi Baggers32
Thank you.
The booster/extender would only help with coverage issues (WIFI)
Please let us know how the connection compares with the new router connected.

Thanks Debbie - will give it a try. Do you think an extender or booster might help?

Hi Debbie/Michelle,
Connection seems to have been a little more stable - don't know if that would show from a line test?
Yes please, send a new router - that may help.

Hi @Baggers32 ,
Testing with a new router will help rule out any faults with your current one.
Would you like me to go ahead and order a router for testing?

Hi Michelle, I don't think the main Openreach socket has a test socket? Is it a good idea to try a new router?
Thanks,
Ian

Good morning,
I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which hasn't detected a fault, however the connection does look very unstable. Does your main socket have a test socket please? Would you like us to send a replacement router for testing purposes to rule this out?
Thanks
Michelle
