Thanks in advance

Hi Dan
Has the replacement extender arrived?
on 20-11-2024 10:20 PM
Hey Debbie
V2 booster now online and showing up in the router as Keith said
Wifi calling does work when mobile data is off, must be firmware of the phone preferring mobile data over wifi which is fine, no option to change preferred anymore on android 14 unless carrier specific
Thanks for the support 😊

It may still be worth testing with the new extender I've sent just to see how it compares.

One of my team has checked some settings on their Samsung handset for WIFI calling.
By default, phones will use mobile data for calling and only use Wi-Fi calling if the mobile signal is weak or lost. This can usually be changed in the settings.....
Tap Wi-Fi Calling, then choose your preferences:
Mobile network preferred: Your mobile network will be used for calls. If your network is unavailable, Wi-Fi will be used.
Wi-Fi preferred: Your phone's Wi-Fi network will be used for calls. If Wi-Fi is unavailable, the mobile network will be used.

In my testing @dannyw13 @Debbie-TalkTalk if this is an Android, you have to set the priority for WiFi calling to:-
I would guess that iPhones would be very similar.

Thanks Dan @dannyw13
Ahh ok, just checked with the team and they said the signal for the extender appears to be strong but the phone may be connecting to phone data when upstairs instead of the WIFI extender. Switching into airplane mode makes it connect to the extender.

Hi Debbie
Seems wifi calling has now appeared upstairs on the extender, in airplane mode, as soon as I turn it off wifi calling disappears

Hi Dan @dannyw13
I'm really sorry to be a pain. Our Devices Team have asked if they can do one more test.
They have asked if you can toggle to flight mode on your device and then try WIFI calling again today? (and let us know if the same issue still happens, date and time) Please ensure you are connected to the WIFI extender at this time too.
