Wifi/router restarting (ADSL issues) + router upgrade needed

So recently, my router has been constantly restarting itself with the ADSL light turning off then flashing back on a few seconds later. I have noticed this is particuarly frequent during periods of rain and the hours following. (Sometimes I can't get the ADSL to register at all during these periods and the light will remain off completely)
I have read this may be a copper wiring problem but I guess it could also be the fact my router is maybe 10 years old and according to the TT site it needs an upgrade?

Hi @PE___
I'm glad to hear that the connection has remained stable with the new router 🙂
Please can you return the old router using the pre paid returns bag.
Thanks
Debbie

My connection over the weekend was much more stable since I began using the new router. There has been no inclement weather during this time so that's something to monitor but so far, so good. Thank you.
Also I received a letter with the router saying I may incur a charge if I don't return my old equipment. I'm more than happy to do so but I'm wondering if this is still necessary given the router is maybe 10+ years old?

Hi @PE___
Thanks for your reply.
The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.
Please let us know how the connection compares with the new router.

Hi @PE___
I'm sorry to hear this.
The line tests are clear, are you happy for me to send a replacement router for testing so we can rule this out?
