I have an
EchoLife DG8041W Home Gateway |
The speeds to the router seem normal. The software is up to date. But all devices connected via Wi-Fi are slow. Speed tests on my iPhone show 6mbps down load, but upload ok at 16.
the tv buffers constantly.
I’ve reset router, this didn’t help.
could I be sent a new router to test whether this is the issue?

just set up the new router - it’s great! Speed to the router has improved and the throughput is faster than the old router, even on a good day.
If I can keep this router, that would be great?

Thanks for replying. It is wired and wireless throughput speeds that are as low as 6/7 mbps.
I have tried turning off the router and leaving it off for a while. Throughput speed did increase but soon dropped.
it’s plugged into master socket too.
I’ve looked on a Wi-Fi scanner, my Wi-Fi is not on over crowded channels either.

Is it just WiFi or are wired connections slow as well?
If both wired and wireless throughput speed is slow, it may be worthwhile (if you haven't already done so) to switch off the router for at least half an hour before restarting.
