Full fibre fitted yesterday with digital voice extender phone rings but no sound when answered

Engineer and I tried turning it off leaving half an hour and switching on, all the lights on the extender are lit, the phone rings when we receive calls and when we call out, but neither end hears anything. Is there anything I can do? Do I need a new digital phone? And if I do what type?

That should have read DVA not DVD!

It's all ok now, I just reset the DVD and now not only does the phone ring I can hear the person on the other end.
