Hi, I have tried to check on open case for landline. it says fixed on 4/11/2024.

Fault still same but I cannot run connection test as case is open?  which is correct . fault still exists, and cannot reach anyone in chat. Phone no use as I have hearing problems. Anyone assist. Thanks. (needed a rant)

Hi,  as stated in email, the noise is still there after about 30 seconds of talking, even though it is a brand new phone.

But I wish to call it a day. The line is always clear when anyone tests it, and engineers are unable to find reason for it.  All extensions have been removed so all suggestions have been seen to.  I will just keep the one phone.   I need the exercise anyway!

Morning,

 

The planned maintenance work has now been completed. Is the noise still present on the line now? Does your main socket have a test socket, if it does then is the noise still present there too?

unless planned maintenance is to change 60 year + old copper line, not sure what they can do, but grateful if they would come again.

Good afternoon,

 

Thanks for the update and I'm sorry to hear that. I've re-run the line tests now which are still clear, although I can see that there is currently planned maintenance happening at the moment. If the noise is still present once the maintenance is finished then the next step would be to arrange an engineer visit to the property to investigate further.

Hi, update from (one of) your favorite pests, 

I have remove extensions, tried other phone I had, and purchased new phone.

Still have noise on line when making a call, after about 10 seconds. Tried it into master socket as well.

I am at a loss as to what do do now except suck it up.  Do you have any other suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi Chris,

Engineer came, tested and cleaned up wires into Master socket.  Suggested if fault continues it could be phone itself, or extension wires into garage. So am trying another hand set first, then will remove extension.  hope it is first, but as it sometimes takes a minute to start crackle will have to wait and see.

  • That you accept potential Engineers charges
  • Provide availability, either AM (8am to 1pm) or PM (1pm to 6pm) between Monday to Friday.
