My BBC channels load via iPlayer other channels unavailable! Happened last week, reset, retuned etc. ITV only came. on channels 800. Then next day righted itself. Same has happened again today. Is there a problem?

Hi

I've requested the TV HUB.  An android based box that will allow you to add more apps.

Have the 4k tv box at the moment, curved one with blue light.

Which ever will be most reliable, only watch tv channels and iPlayer, ITVX etc for catch up. Thank you

Hi

Would you like the same box, or would you like to try the TV Hub ?

Well if this will help. But we do keep seeing people having the same problem. It’s very strange. Is it definitely not as issue with talk talk?

Still happening. My daughter has reset the box 3 times in the last few weeks, by pressing the button on side of box 5 times. Reinstalled everything, works for a while. ITVX and other channels all gone again today, just says invalid. BBC loading via iPlayer again. This is ridiculous, will a new box help? My daughter is not nearby and I’m 81. Will have to look at another provider if this continues. Thank you

Thank you. I’m 81 years old, not technically minded. So not sure I understand any of that. Also I have no itv , 4 or 5. Same thing happened a week ago. My daughter reset and retuned. Got ITV etc back but on channels 800. Then next morning it all went back to normal. Seemed other people were having this problem. I’ll have to wait for my daughter to come at the weekend. TALKTALK are no help over the phone. Thank you anyway

Hi

You can manually change the settings to stop Iplayer kaunching as follows :

Switching over from IP fallback (iPlayer) to DVB aerial source for BBC channels.

1) Navigate to ITV1 by pressing “3” on the remote control.

2) Press the “CH-” key on the remote to load BBC TWO

3) An info bar will appear towards the bottom, immediately press the “Right” arrow key
on the remote to navigate to the “Settings” option.

4) Immediately press the “OK” button on the remote control. This will show a new box
titled “Channel Source” for BBC TWO

Note that you will need to perform steps 3 and 4 (pressing “right” & “OK”) in quick
succession - i.e. within about 2 seconds. If you aren’t quick enough, simply press “CH+” to
load ITV1 again and repeat from step 2.

5) Use the “Left” or “Right” arrow keys to switch to “BBC TWO HD” which is the aerial
version of the channel. The source labelled just BBC TWO is the iPlayer version.

6) All other BBC channels should now play through your aerial, i.e. the iPlayer loading
screen should no longer appear. You can check this by navigating to either BBC ONE
(channel #1) or BBC THREE (channel #23).

Thanks

Karl.

Yes, unfortunately. This has been reported and we are informed the iPlayer launches if signal is low.

I understood a fix was being pushed out late last week to fix this (did this happen @Karl-TalkTalk ), so it may be worth checking your updates available under settings or a reset of the box by pressing the button on the left hand side of the box 5 times until it restarts. You will lose recordings if you use this facility and have to sign into catch up services again, but if an update is pending it will be installed.

The advice is to use channels 101 and 102 which work normally and if you have an HD or 4k TV the picture is much sharper.

Hope this helps
