Box Unresponsive

I'm using the TalkTalk TV Hub and have had a couple of instances over the last couple of days where the box has become unresponsive to the remote (both times it's been on BBC 1 HD, channel 101, but this may just be a coincidence).  Pressing "Home" or "Guide" or trying to change the channel hasn't worked and the only way I've managed to restore normal service is to unplug the box to force a restart. 

 

Does anyone know why this might be happening?  Is there a better way to resolve the issue that doesn't involve unplugging the box?

If you hold down the power button on the remote does it give the shutdown option ?
