Hi,
Hopefully somebody else has come across this problem and has a solution.
I cannot record ITV4, get the message 'Recording failed'
I can record all other channels with no problem.
Thanks

Hi
This is one of those quirky problems, and YouView are aware, but no updates have been given as yet.
Karl.

Hello,
I'm sorry for the delay. I'll ask my colleague Karl if they can pick this up and investigate.
Thanks

@fr8ys, as the failures only occur when the two tuners are tuned to certain combinations of muxes prior to the box attempting a D3&4 recording (see page 2 of the YouView forum capture) it's entirely possible that some people will never experience the problem, depending on their usage patterns. As such it may well affect all TalkTalk boxes but just not all users. 🙂

@mc2tt many thanks for confirming. The reported issue here, as I suspected, does seem related to your reported issue.
Hopefully @Karl-TalkTalk or a colleague has a direct line into YouView to be able to provide us with an update.
It's also strange it's not affecting all TalkTalk boxes too.

fr8ys, FYI, the D3&4 mux channels* recording failures problem that started on the 19th of January has never gone away, despite the claim of a (partial) fix ("we're aware there may still be a few issues": page 3 below).
I stopped reporting the issues in part 'cos I just lost the will to do so and in bigger part 'cos I now try hard to avoid recording anything on D3&4 on the TalkTalk box (DN372T), either going for the HD channels, if available, or the +1 when on another mux, or recording on other devices.
However, despite trying not to, since I last reported in the YouView forum I have occasionally slipped up and tried to record a D3&4 programme on the DN372T and it's pretty much always failed, as before, so I can definitely confirm that the problem is still there. And as you say, YouView have now closed their forums so there's nowhere to report the continuing issue to them anyway, but I thought I'd pipe up here as this may be useful to you, and to TT.
For the history and investigations, the thread on the YouView forum has been captured by the WayBack machine. It's at:

Page 3: https://web.archive.org/web/20230530072137/https://community.youview.com/youview/discussion/7607116/...
While YouView seem to claim it's a broadcaster problem, it is curious that it only affects the TalkTalk YouView boxes and not the BT (Humax) ones or the Sony YouView TVs, or any of the Freeview Plus boxes.
Anyway, hope this is of some use. 🙂

Hi
If you follow the advice from fr8ys, and also let us know what model of box you have.
Thanks
Karl.

Hi,
Is it just ITV4 that is the issue as there was a reported problem with C4 and other channels on the same MUX. ITV4 appears to be one of those channels.
Could you try a couple of other channels on the same MUX and post the results. Channels can be found here https://www.freeview.co.uk/corporate/platform-management/channel-listings-industry-professionals
YouView were looking into this as it was felt it was nothing to do with the box, but the broadcaster. Unfortunately YouView have now closed their forum, so we will not get an update. Hopefully the staff here will be able to find out more.
The advice was to use +1 channels as these are usually on a different Mux.
You are in the staff's queue for a response.
For a quicker reply can you please ensure you have your personal information up to date in your profile including your TalkTalk landline phone number so your account can be traced. Link here - https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile:personal-info
If you are unsure of your phone number, you can find this in My Account or dial 17070 from your landline phone and this will confirm the number for you.
You can also add your account number in the private notes field, which only you and the support staff can view.
Please post back when done.
Thank you
