I have now been charged twice for late payment although the bills have arrived after the payment date. We live in an area where we only get post once or twice per week. There seems no simple way to email an account manager and talk to them. I work overseas and manage my elderly parents account and the BOT finishes work to early.

@AdeCar, can you not set this up to pay by direct debit?
You are being charged extra every month for paper bills, and the frequency of postal deliveries is bound to decline as Royal Mail does less.
If you are managing their account it may be possible to pay directly from your own bank account or even take responsibility as a nominated user:
