Hi I used my own TP Link Router for about 8 years until the heat sync fell off.

I got the router Talktalk sent me It's a Sagemcom Fast 5364 and it works a treat.

I just wondered on my account it says we can't recognise your router and firmware?

Is it still supported and do I have latest firmware? Just wondered as I reckoned if you can't recognise it you can't update it.

Like I said works a treat just wondered if there had been security updates in the last, must be 9 years!

TIA

will do. Thank you

You should leave the router on 24/7, @Stratoc1. Most updates to firmware happen overnight.

I'm not going to brick another one.. I have SG4K100174 will that update automatically if needed? My previous one was nearly ten years old when I unboxed it. This one is much newer and so's the interface.

But do your routers update on their own?

Thanks

Hi @Stratoc1

No, I'm sorry 😞  There must have been an issue with the router and firmware.

The new router is on its way, please let me know once this has arrived and has been connected up.

Thanks

Debbie

Hi @Stratoc1

I'm really sorry about this.

If you tried a factory reset (pin hole reset) then I will need to send another router. Would you like me to arrange this?

Hi Debbie, I woke up to it flashing orange at 0700. left it an hour, turned it off left 30 minutes and started still the same.

Did a pin reset left 30 minutes still the same. If I try and log into my account or this forum on mobile it says opps please refresh and try again?

So, I have had a make a heatsync out of an old graphics card and am currently back on my Tp Link VR800.

Did the firmware break the Sagemcom? I really liked the router terrible wifi range but must fast connection.

Edit, the TP Link is faster somehow, I guess the original heat sink was falling off slowly.

I doesn't look too slick with a hole into the top and bits if 1080ti liquid mettled on though

Please advise anything I could try.

Thanks

Hi @Stratoc1

I've requested that the firmware is updated. Is the router switched on at the moment?

My Connection takes a day or two to update anyway, so it will only have caught up now and is recognising the Sagemcom, @Stratoc1.

Leave it on all the time  - most updates happen overnight, so if it's not done it by the morning, staff can push it through anyway.

However, @Stratoc1 that is such an old version, which is certainly bug-ridden & TalktTalk's automated delivery system should have updated you. I will ask them to manually push the current version to your router, but it won't be until Monday now.

Honestly, if it is all working well I wouldn't worry too much. My Account is so riddled with bugs and glitches that it cannot be regarded as a reliable tool.
