Talktalk tv box no signal and no channels

We went live with our internet on Monday, our wi-fi has been working well since Monday. However we're having major issues with our Talk-talk TV hub.

1st problem: After tuning we only had 16 channels. We're expecting according to freeview approximately 134.

2nd problem: after an hour of watching the tv the signal started getting poor. YVM 4302 was the error message. This then progressed to getting no signal at all and after retuning it couldn't find a single channel.

I spoke to the bot and then a supposed 'agent'. Who after an hour said that the other channels may come after a period of settling in. Does anyone know if this is correct? because I can't find anywhere that says this is a thing.

Also after an hour of many re-tunings, turning off and back on again, re-plugging in the aerial cable, we finally got a decent signal on the 16 channels we started with, however within 10 minutes the signal already started worsening.

Does anyone have the answer to my 2 problems? The agent despite eventually fixing the problem, took over an hour to understand what my actual problem was and then wasn't helpful when the problem immediately came back.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Glad you got to the bottom of this.   A good external aerial is required for TalkTalk TV.

Thanks

Karl.

Hi Thanks for your reply.

We checked it with the TV only and the TV isn't receiving any signal. Turns out we don't have a TV aerial, which we weren't made aware of when moving into the property. The reason we pick up some signal is the aerial is somewhere in our roof but the external part is missing. Once we've dealt with this issues, hopefully our signal should be returned.

Thanks Again

If you plug the aerial directly into your TV and retune, how many channels do you get?

Is the aerial split so you have one going to the TV and one to the hub or is it into the TV and looped out to the box?

If the latter, is there a setting on the TV that needs to be enabled such as RF output. EU regulations made this turned off by default.

The hub needs a separate feed ideally so if it doesn't have one that might affect the signal
