Router has slowed down over time,is there a simple fix

Had my router for a while now and recently started to have issues such as slow speed,not connecting to TV ,buffering or just not connecting to streams that have always worked.It can be a nightmare watching,Netflix,Prime etc.

My package gives me ample to enable unfettered access without buffering.

Do I need to upgrade firmware ?
How would I do that ?

My router doesn’t appear to have a name on it but it would appear to be a Fast 3564,it’s perforated oblong black plastic without markings on front with red,yellow and white connections on rear and it’s plugged directly into the BT master socket which was replaced by Talk talk a while back following speed issues.

Your router has the latest firmware, and is the latest model we currently supply.

 

Have you tried a pin reset of the router - hold a pin or paperclip in the reset hole at the back for 10 seconds and this will fully reset the router.
