I can ensure this is in the workflow, but they are still playing catch up from the huge number of customers in need who would normally have used chat / phone lines.

I live in the TN23 area of kent (Ashford) and my broadband is also down. Having scoured the local community Facebook pages, it seems everybody around here on TalkTalk is suffering the same issue.
Apparently they've flagged it as urgent so you like to assume it'll be sorted soon
